Himan Hojat Jalali , Ph.D.

Assistant Professor at University of Texas at Arlington

  • Faculty member at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Texas at Arlington.
  • Research areas: resilient design of infrastructure, service life estimation of buried infrastructure, meta-material & structural control.
  • Over $400k funded research by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) through TranSET, Tarrant Regional Water District and Water Research Foundation.
  • Member of ASCE, AWWA and is also committee member in UESI Technical Committee on Seismic Design of Buried Water & Wastewater Pipelines.

 

Jane M Peter, Ph.D.

Geotechnical EIT at Thurber Engineering Ltd.

  • EIT at Thurber Engineering Ltd. with over three years of experience in the consulting industry.
  • Working as a member of the geotechnical design team to provide technical advice on tunnelling and pipeline projects across Ontario.
  • Gaining an understanding of soil-structure interaction using design models.
  • Graduated from Queen’s University with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.
  • Research focused on deterioration and rehabilitation effects on buried underground infrastructures like pipes & maintenance hole structures.
